Exclusive 'Half-Blood Prince' movie tidbit

At the U.S. premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Sunday, producer David Heyman confirmed the casting of two 11-year-old red-haired children for the next film, Half-Blood Prince, which is set to begin filming in September.

The actors -- Taylor Triphook (a boy) and Katie Head -- will play two new, minor characters who are not culled from JK Rowling's sixth novel. Heyman did not elaborate further. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is expected in theatres November 2008.

Any bets that its the kids Crabbe and Goyle are Polyjuiced into? Scales or Frogspawn anyone?

One is a boy and I always thought they turned into girls...

But that says they are characters not in the book???

I thought they may have been orphan kids but we never really saw Tom take the kids to the cave, but we didn't see a bridge getting blown up either. Word is they are blowing up a bridge for the movie and wanting to cut back on Quidditch.

That makes me mad because a lot of 6 is Quidditch with Harry becoming Captian and all. And he'll cut that and add stuff barely mentioned in the book. Ugh. :-/

That was what made me crazy about the PoA movie... they left out so much of the excellent stuff that JKR wrote, and then added lots of lame "interior shots" and made up things she never put in the books (like the blue bird! What the heck was that when we could have seen Draco & Co dressed like Dementors. And it was like Cuaron didn't even read what the big black dog was supposed to look like...grrrr....but I digress...). On one of the interviews with DR yesterday he confirmed that Yates will be the director for HBP. That makes me even more interested in seeing 5, to see how good of a job he does.

You're right about the C&G polyjuice-kids being girls, but that never stopped the movie guys before....Ron gets Hermione's lines, who the heck is Nigel, etc.

It could be some kids from the orphanage, for sure.
(Maybe we should get Billy Stubbs together with Lavender since they both like bunnies. Ohhhh! He's really her father and will be extra anti-TDL, and she will single-handedly do in several DEs, then move to Yorkshire and raise show quality rabbits on the new family farm! I can see it all now!)

Today HPANA and TLC ran articles that said there will be no Fleur in The Half-Blood Prince.

While her part was rather small and easily eidted out of the script, perhaps this means that the movie folks have decided to bypass Bill's attack! I think I would actualy like that. Call me shallow, but I prefer the "Rock Star" over "Mad-Eye" look ... no gross yellow fingernails picking bits-o-Bill out of Fenrir's teeth seems a decided plus.

I think I agree. Since Bill hasn't even been seen in the movies it would be a bit much to introduce him with his face all chopped up.

I never liked Fleur in the first place.
