Hello all!

These are the lyrics to two original songs that I've penned. Please let me know what you think. I'd Rather Be At Hogwarts will be performed live at Prophecy 2007 in Toronto!

I’D RATHER BE AT HOGWARTS

In the year 2001
There came a movie
And I saw it on a whim
And I got pulled in
To a world of magic
Like nothing I’d ever know again
Now I write silly stories
And I write silly songs
And I count myself a member
Of the house of Ravenclaw
The wizarding world has captured me
But I’m stuck with the Muggles when I’d rather be
With Harry, on all our adventures
Riding on broomsticks and brandishing wands
Hanging around with Hermione and Ron
I’d rather be
I’d rather be at Hogwarts
In the year 2007
There came a book
And it ended it all
And I felt tears fall
For a world of magic
Like nothing I’ll ever know again
So I write silly stories

And I count myself a member
Of the house of Ravenclaw
The wizarding world has captured me
But I’m stuck with the Muggles when I’d rather be
With Harry, on all our adventures
Brewing up potions and running through forests
Defeating evil, nothing’s too big for us

A PLEA TO J.K. ROWLING

Your hills and dales and flowery vales
That lie near the Hogwarts lake
Your vines that blow near the Whomping Willow
Will I ever see them again?
Where the pensieve glows
And the mandrake grows
Where the ghosts of each house play
With my wand and book
Delight I took
To spend my youthful days
I sent a plea to J.K. Rowling
To hear what she might say
To see if she’d take pity on me
And not take Harry away
I said, “I love that British lad
And he brings me so much joy
And ever since I learned of him
I have loved that wizard boy”
She said, “Perhaps your wizard boy shall live
Sailing on a sea of fame
Or perhaps he’ll die and you will cry
And you’ll never see him again”
Well, please don’t take Harry from me
He’s the one I do adore
And seven years I’ve spent with him
Though I wish that it could be more
