Well, well, well! Our boys do seem to be in a bit of a pickle! They've been forced to make a fast escape, but have violated the International Confederation of Wizards' Statute of Secrecy by leaving evidence of their having been in a Muggle dwelling.

Plus we have several unanswered questions.

In this Round we have to tie up all the loose ends in an interesting way.

(Though not necessarily in the order enumerated below.)

Why was it important that Remus go to THAT particular house? Or was it important that Sirius go there?

Was the mission Dumbledore sent him on accomplished, or does he (or both) need to return to do something more?

Why is the Mission important?

It is June, just after the end of the TriWizard Tournament, tie in canon events or the planning of what is needed to be done that summer, in your reasoning and storyline.

You are not limited to having all of this story occur within the day or two so far. If they need more time until they can complete the errand they were sent on, so be it. If they completed the errand, what's next?

Where did the Wizards apparate to (Grimmauld, close by, or where)? Is what they found at that place important? (It is probably dependant to your answer of the above.)

Did the Muggles hear the noise as the Wizards left, further violating the International Confederation of Wizards' Statute of Secrecy?

Is everything as it seems on the surface?

(All of the following do NOT need to be included if your storyline goes in another direction, but explanations for at least two ARE needed.)
What about the tea cups?
The police?
The dishwasher?
The Muggles?
The House?
The "price" on the Wizards' heads?
The unmade beds?

Expect the Unexpected

Sirius opened his eyes to pitch black. Feeling with his fingers, he found a cold doorknob and, with some trouble, he stumbled into a dreary hall. Looking at his surroundings, Siruis sighed heavily and got lost in his memories.

“When you nodded, I didn’t think you meant to apparate into the broom closet,” Remus half chuckled as he leaned against the dusty wall.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Sirius looked up at his friend then behind him at the open broom closet door he just stumbled out of. Grinning, he turned back to Lupin and said, “For some reason when I was younger, I always apparated into this old closet. Probably cause that’s where I felt safe when Elladora came over and tried to put make-up on me as a child.”

Trying not to show his amusement, Remus tried to look sympathetic and nod slightly.

“Lets head to kitchen, get some breakfast,” Sirius half grumbled from resenting memories that the closet inflicted upon him.

The two men turned and walked down the old stars quietly, careful not to fall through the seemingly rotting steps.

“Sirius?”

“Yeah?” He replied, jiggling open a door that lead it’s way into a surprisingly clean kitchen.

Upon entering the kitchen, Remus forgot to ask why they went to the kitchen by using a hidden staircase because he was more concerned as to why the kitchen was so clean for being abandoned for years, “Why is it so clean in here?”

Sirius rummaged through cupboards and found some cans of ‘Instant Bacon and Eggs’.

“Clean? You call this clean? There’s dust on the windowsill for Merlin’s sake,” he opened the can and blew on a blob of goop that magically turned into warm strips of bacon and fluffy eggs. “I used to eat this stuff all the time when mum forgot to have someone make me breakfast. I don’t know how they work,” Sirius added after noticing Lupin’s quizzical look, “ I just know that they taste good.”

Accepting the plate from Sirius, Remus sat down and began to express his concerns, “I’m not used to hiding like this. How long am I to stay in hiding before Dumbldore sorts this out?”

“He never said anything more then just that I needed to help you, I guess this is what he meant.” Sirius said with some egg hanging from his lip.

Sighing Remus said, “Gotta love Dumbledore, he always gives us all the information we need after we figure it out.”

“Haha, well he did say that it was crucial that you aren’t to be seen or heard of for a while, but knowing Dumbledore, a while could mean a month, let alone a year.”

“Dear, don’t be rude, let them in,” Sharon said to her husband as she nudged him out of the way to let the policemen in.

“Thank-you Ma’am. You called about a disturbance in your house?”

“Aye, that was me sir. We don’t drink tea –“

“I’m deathly allergic and Burt here doesn’t drink any afraid that I might mistake it for seasoning bags.”

“Right then, can you lead us to where you spotted them, sir?” The head officer asked.

Burt nodded slightly and quickly led the officers to the kitchen counter where the teacups had been that morning.

“These it then?” the second officer asked.

“Yes sir, those are it,” Burt said.

The two officers looked in the green china cups, looked at each other then looked at the couple. “You said there was tea in here did you not?”

“Yes, I just told headquarters this, did they not tell you?” Burt began to get frustrated with the officers; they could be searching the house instead of asking obvious questions.

Charlie, the Head Officer sighed, “I was informed as to what the incident was sir, but there is no tea in these cups. No liquid of any sort for that matter.”

“That’s preposterous!” Sharon exclaimed, “I near fainted when I saw the tea, just the aroma from the leaves made me dizzy.”

Charlie and his partner started to doubt the young couple, “Then did you wash the cups out?”

“NO!” Sharon half shrieked. Burt comforted his wife and explained that they did nothing to the teacups except stay far away from them.

“How did you happen in upon these cups?” Charlie asked.

“We came home late last night from a party for the Queen’s birthday that our mates were throwing.” Burt answered.

Charlie looked at his partner and they both nodded slightly, “Okay, we’ll write a report and submit it in. You let us know if the tea leaves magically appear, we ‘ought to be off now. We’ll show ourselves out.”

After Burt locked the door behind the officers, he came into the kitchen to find his wife sitting in the chair mumbling while staring at the cups.

“Dear, you okay?”

Shanon looked up at her husband slightly confused, “You saw the leaves at the bottom off the cup, soggy as if used, right?”

“I did.”

“Then why are they not there?”

“I don’t know dear,” he looked at the cups, “It’s like they disappeared by magic.”

**** 2 Months Later ****

“Okay this time I swear that vase was there yesterday and you can back me up because you almost broke it!” Sirius exclaimed.

Remus remembered the night when he had to run into an odd room with no windows and a lock on the door when the moon finally appeared.

“Did you move it or am I going mad?” Sirius looked around him like he would find the vase hiding behind a curtain.

“No, I didn’t, it’s in the hallway outside of the room, and other then it tipping slightly, I never touched it.” Remus paused slightly, “But I can’t guarantee that the items in the room are still in tact.”

Sirius stopped looking around and laughed at Lupin, “That’s okay, I don’t care much about the items in the room or that vase, they were my mother’s. I am more concerned that I’m loosing my marbles. First my mother’s favorite painting by the tele and now her vase, maybe I need to look out the window and stop remembering this house.”

“Haha, well maybe there’s a Niffler that only fancies your mother’s possessions,” Remus half-jokingly said to his friend, “You’re right, I think we both need some time out of this house.”
