As far as the plot bunny goes, I couldn't help myself, as I crave to get my ideas out in the open: JK has used Voldemort's/his followers' side of the story within the first two chapters of 2 of her books before (as you all know quite well). After Harry's last encounter with Snape, a little bit of the story from Snape's point of view could put things in motion. (Keep in mind, this is for future reference only. I just wanted to get this idea in the air. Good work [again] on the first chapter.)

I'm thinking the only way for Snape to tell his side is remotely (since the Order would up and kill him if he showed his face)- and I do think he has unfinished business with Harry, both in explaining his side and giving Harry a hand.

Also, Harry's main purpose now, considering HBP, is to strike off on his own and find and destroy Voldemort's horcruxes. He doesn't want to involve many people because of the danger and he doens't want to return to Hogwarts because he doesn't want to be controlled.

My idea here, is that Harry will be the only one with any contact to Snape - additionally, there's the possibility that those he tells/asks for help don't believe it's possible for Snape to have spoken in his mind at all.

The story could continue, roughly, with Harry attempting to find Godric's Hollow to search for clues...

Hello everyone!

McGonagall's Cat told me that you all are a bit confused about my idea involving Rita Skeeter and I'd like to apologize for that, I didn't think it would prove to be so difficult to bring her in. Here's what I thought about her role in the story:

I actually had this idea in mind, with her being a Voldemort expert, having studied his subject for years, and that she thereby became a most powerful witch - similar to Bellatrix, becoming infatuated with Voldemort, but apparently not in a good way... She got past the security because she is an animagus, and since there aren't too many animagi in the wizarding world, Dumbledore was the only one who cast a spell on the Burrow to protect from Animagi. (The other spells being cast by other members of the order who were almost equally able to do it.) So she disguised as a bug. (I thought of that because the Petrificus Totalus was also lifted off Harry when Dumbledore died.) So I thought she'd give him some kind of information about the Horcruxes (that's where I wanted someone else to get active smile.gif) and she'd become, grudgingly from Harry's point of view, Harry's companion... and that she might betray Harry in the end because her infatuation with Voldemort turned into an obsession.

Now, I'd like to know your opinions on it and whether we should let the story continue that way or whether I should just get rid of her by saying she was a polyjuiced Death Eater (Malfoy perhaps) who got into the house the same way Rita would, because when you turn into her, you automatically can use her powers.

Tell me what you think!

Great posts from everyone!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the info out of Rita?

I was thinking maybe Harry could invite her to the wedding to finish extracting info from her. There was some work going on with the invitations when the story started. Maybe Harry could swipe one for her.

Rita at the wedding, that would be hilarious! Can you imagine Mrs. Weasley's eyes popping out of her head at that sight?

OK ! Time for Chapter Two!

Let's explore some of what's going on with some other characters! This chapter can have nothing more than a passing reference to anything in Chapter One and preferably nothing to do with the first chapter. (Think how HBP is structured! First we're in London, then at Spinner's End, and the next is all about Harry, and each of them is completely unrelated to the previous one..)

Wow! This is GREAT guys! I love it! I also like the way it's done a sentence at a time, it could go anywhere!

Wow, that's a lot of exclamation points! Must be really good stuff!
