Speaking of meaning!! Did anyone see the cover for the deluxe edition (US)? Harry, Ron, and Hermione are riding a dragon. A dragon!

I think it was raised by Charlie...or in secret by Hagrid. biggrin.gif

Pic on Mugglenet

Levine made a comment on the part of the book the pic represents saying he was really into it in this part.

I think it's interesting that on the deluxe cover Ron and Hermione are wearing Hogwarts robes (or at least what I assume are Hogwarts robes) and Harry is not. Hmmm.....

That is interesting. I didn't even notice that.

Ron and Hermione's robes are really tattered. I wonder what that means.

I was thinking last night...wouldn't it be funny if the dragon was Norbert? It seems like a JK thing to do.

One other thing about the dragon...does his eye look weird- as though he's been bewitched maybe.

I pre-ordered a deluxe version yesterday. It said they will only be printing 100,000. That doesn't seem like very many. I have a HBP deluxe. It is very nice.

The dragon's eyes kind of remind me of what Krum's eyes looked like when he was under the imperius curse int the GOF movie. (I know, book and movie, different entities, but that's what I thought of)

It would be awesome if that was Norbert smile.gif

Double "hmmm" My first thought was that the dragon is Norbert. The way it is makes me think of something more ancient. Its long and has whiskers kind of like Chinese dragons. It's the eyes that really get me though.....the dragon almost looks blind even. hmm.gif

*stubs toe in the dirt*

Rats! I had a whole theory about Ginny still being connected to Voldemort and him using that to manipulate Harry...then found this, from an interview with JKR on July 16, 2005, HBP publication day
Edinburgh, Scotland :

QUOTE
MA: Someone put it to me last night, that if Ginny, with the diary -

JKR: Harry definitely destroyed that piece of soul. You saw it take shape, you saw it destroyed, it's gone. And Ginny is definitely in no way possessed by Voldemort.

MA: Is she still a Parselmouth?

JKR: No.

And my story was soooo good. *sigh*

Darn, that happens sometimes. Perhaps you could still write a fic about it. That is what our brilliant minds are for, right?

QUOTE
Hmmm.... The British "childrens' cover" shows them being blown in or sucked out amidst many treasures.... And when Hagrid takes Harry there the first time we hear the rumour that Gringotts even has dragons protecting some stuff....

On SnitchSeeker somewhere is a news fourm that has I think the Today show that has been having important people ask questions to keep us on our toes. Well this last person was an editor or publisher or something but one of the few people who have read the 7th book. Instead of asking a question he just said the Hogwarts school motto - in Latin of course. But translated is something about tickling a sleeping dragon...

Could this hold more meaning then anything. Hagrid talks about dragons being in Gringotts, there's a treasure on one cover and a dragon on another cover. The school motto which one of the few people who have read the book remind us of.... Humm! Interesting...

(Click the blue words in the middle - I did mine in Windows Media)

Anyways the Actor who plays Hagrid said JKR told him he'll like his charachter in book seven because he has a lot to do.... More to think about.

Thanks for posting this! Those links really are interesting!

Could you catch JKR's last word in the audio one?

Harry Potter has the prime space, on the front page above the fold, of today's (Sunday July 8th, 2007) Denver Post!

The article, which can be read here,
covers speculations concerning death in Book Seven and in "childrens" liturature in general.
The most encouraging thought put forth states, "Fictional characters do not really die," Nel said. "Dumbledore is still alive in the first six Harry Potter books."

It's comforting to know we can always go back to the other books, but it won't change the fact that I cried when he died, and will probably cry when the deaths come about in book 7
