This is a great idea, hilarious! I can't wait!

I'm not sure if you were just counting bathrooms that Harry has entered but I do remember that when Umbridge and the Inquisitorial Squad are catching the DA that night, Harry thinks that he will hide in the boys bathroom that is just up the hall.

I will go look at the Valentine's topic now, and keep my nitpicking nose out of things.

Good eye, Whirr! I'll check that reference out and maybe add it to the list of known bathrooms. Still, not nearly enough for the whole Hogwarts population. They need another bathroom.

Maybe when we've raised the money for it, we'll have a special project to decide where in Hogwarts it ought to be. tongue.gif

I'm so sorry gang! I was supposed to open the voting booth for the Valentine Duel the other day and forgot!

It's open now, and will remain open an extra day (until Feb 2).

Forgive me! :ashamed:

Subs will be extended another 24 hours, too. Subs will be accepted until tomorrow night at midnight-ish.

Thanks!

All right, ferrets! Hogwarts needs that bathroom, so please get on into the voting booth and rate the three Valentine Duel submissions.

Voting will continue until Feb. 4th, to give people a chance to get their ratings in.

Good luck, writers!

The voting booth for My Funny Valentine is now closed.

:heart4: Congratulations to Timeturner!! Her story, Mrs. Weasley's Valentine won first place with an average rating of 9.33! :heart4:

She will be contacted soon by the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures regarding her prize.

Thanks to our ferrets, we've just begun the race to 7000 galleons with our first deposit of ferret points-to-galleons towards a new bathroom for Hogwarts! Our first Hogwarts Fund duel earned us 140 galleons!

As soon as our sponsors, Plum and Plum's Perfect Wizarding Plumbing and Loos and Marvin Merrill's Marvellous Magical Marble are notified of our earnings, the galleons earned will be reflected in our fund tallying thermometer, which you can see in the left hand side bar menu.

Thanks to everyone who wrote and voted!

Here are the final scores. The comments from the voting booth have been extracted and sent to the submission topic for My Funny Valentine.

Mrs. Weasley's Valentine | Average score of 9.33

Genuine Affection Confection | Average score of 9.33

So much for a happy ending... | Average score of 8.50

Question/Comment!!!

'Gothamist' appears to be a word without meaning. While it is currently a particular, and peculiar, magazine, the word seems rather devoid of a modern definition, although Webster's 1913 edition had one.

Has my Webster's Unabridged finally failed me! Are we to resurrect ancient usages, and obsolete words? Has Harry Potter finally invaded New York City? Are we now in the middle of a Potterverse/DC Comic universe crossover? Will Robin attend Hogwarts next term?

Stay tuned - same bat time, same bat channel!!

Gothamist is not completely out of circulation. I remember reading it lately in a book review for A Seduction of Unreason by Wolin... though I forget who wrote the review and where. At any rate, a definition can be found without need of the OED on dictionary.reference.com.

The OED does not list the word as obsolete or archaic... but it certainly is uncommon. I'm voting for the DC crossover. I've been watching way too much Justice League Unlimited lately.

I'll add my vote for a HP/DC crossover! That sounds like a whole lotta fun!
