I clicked the link to check the standings and hadn't noticed that it was titled Round Two. So when no list came up, I was like "What the-?" rolleyes.gif

Yes, that's right! Round Two has begun. You'll find the final statistics in a post by McG's Cat in the Guidelines topic.

Congrats to Andi and Cherabela on your Ferret Points, and to Anhaire for winning the round and giving us Chapter One! Wooo!!

GREAT work, everyone! I can't wait to see the subs for round two!

There's only one submission sad.gif

I hope that's because we're all waiting for Tuesday to submit or something.

Or perhaps it's because the one sub that's there is so good that everyone else thinks they don't have a chance at beating it!

I'm writing as fast as I can. I got in a bit of a fix with the creature and the clue thing. True though, it is weird that there's only one thus far. <_<

I'm also struggling to finish. I worked for seven hours over the weekend! Its just not coming to me for some reason- I blame it on the word preambulate.

OK OK its not the word's fault, I just couldn't think of another excuse. I can't wait to see how everyone continues the story! I'm afraid mine may be far-fetched.

7 hours- wow. I normally only write during Linguistics lecture (see the lovely quote from that class in my siggy), and that only meets 3 hours a week. I'm having trouble with piggin, myself.

Thats funny! Your professor must be impressed with the number of "notes" you take. Actually out of the seven hours, I watched Young Guns II on tv for two of them, but I did try to think of things to write during the commercials. tongue.gif

I loved the scene mission but had a hard time with it for some reason. I only hope my story can hang with the rest of the group this time around. I feel like even after all the effort its still not working for some reason...

Yes, I'm a very good student, taking pages of notes every hour. I hardly ever stop typing!

I think there was an awful lot to fit into this chapter, and that makes it hard to write.

That's why I never read any submission until I've made my own. It's too easy to become intimidated!

That's probably a good idea.

The submission up there is pretty good, but I can see definate areas for improvement. We should try to get 10 up there at least!

I will not be able to get a story entered into this week's contest; for that I apologize.

The good news is I have a new granddaughter, as of about 9:40 last evening. Both granddaughter and daughter-in-law are doing fine.

The bad news is there were complications after the delivery, so grandpa has been babysitting new granddaughter's 21 month old, 'older' sister, since yesterday morning, while all female relatives from both sides *helped* the hospital staff. All of them are CNAs and should know better, but hey, I'm just the grandpa - what would I know about such things! (I do know not to swap jokes with the delivering doctor in the middle of birthing. That lesson almost cost me my life!)

BTW, the bad news was the complications, not the babysitting part! Babysitting an active 21 month old does keep me hopping, however, with little time to write a story.
