2 August Hogsmeade
Dear Mum and GrandDa and GrandMum,
Summer's been going along swimmingly! 'Have had some wonderful times with my mates. We have all made an appointment to meet and get school books and such for the coming year on August 6th.
Please contact Gringotts and explain I'll be coming for the funds I will need on that day. Enclosed is my Hogwarts supplies letter. I've noted the approximate amount each book will cost and the few other incidentals.
Did the foal turn out to be a filly or colt? How are the crops coming? Is there anything from here you'd like sent?
Hope you are all well.
Much Love,
Remus

Ahoy, Re!
Or is that Ray, a drop of golden sun? Me, a name, I caaaal myself, faaaa a-
You get the idea.
It's a colt, and it'll bolt, your fault. (tee hee. No offence)
The corn is corny, the hay says 'hey!' and the carrots had an accident and are all now vegitables.
Gringotts, the place where Goblins grin over what they gots, has been informed of your wanton lack of thrift.
Grandma says howdy. Your Mum and Dad say howdy too. Actually, they don't because they don't know I'm writing this. They're still on about your doing better if you manage to forget your family and "find ties in your own generation." Blah blah blah. If they find out about this, your poor old grandpaw will find himself, once again, in the doghouse.
I've sent a picture of the filly. (it actually is a filly, since I couldn't think of any cute word games with filly except willy nilly, which wasn't too great) Isn't she gorgeous? She'll be yours, no matter what your mother says. If she's going to continue calling you an animal, she might as well let you go full monty and enjoy yourself with some. Not that I agree with her, but there you are. I want you to have a full and happy life, and when you fight the Devil, you sometimes have to use his own pitchfork.
I'm also sending you a tin of that fudge your grandma makes. Actually, I nicked it from the pantry, because your mother still thinks, (as you very well know) that sugar will enhance your "bad blood." Don't let it get to you, though, because you've still got Grandpa to send you care packages.
So, in return, get me a box of those wondrous fizzing wizbees, will you? Grandma will kill me for it, of course, but I've got to get sugar from somewhere, don't I?
Remember: mums the word with your friends. They like you for who you are, and, though I don't think they'd turn against you, I still don't trust any of them to keep a secret. Remember that the wolf doesn't define you for who you are. The wolf is just a part of you, like my arthritis is a part of me. Don't listen to what those gits in St. Mungos and the Ministry say. You're your own man, and the wolf can go hang.
As for Aunty May, she's still sadly and woefully in the dark about why she's not allowed to come and see you any more. Tell you the truth, I'll try and smuggle her over to see you off on the Hogwarts train. After all, your Mum and Dad'll never know, since they won't be there. I'll tell Grandma I'm taking her along so she can have a look at London.
You'll pull through, Re, you always have.
Good luck, Granda

Dear Granda,
I always love hearing from you!
Thanks for the pictures of the new filly. You are so silly sometimes, you know the horses go frantic whenever I get near the barn. Still, it was a fun little daydream to feel the wind blowing on my face as we galloped over the lane to the McKinnons'.
Fizzing Whizbees enclosed. This bunch came from Honeydukes. Will look around for anything new when we're down at the Alley, so keep an eye out for another package soon.
Would love to see Auntie May again. Honestly, I don't understand how Mum can be such a depressive personality when she comes from the same bloodlines as you and Auntie May!
Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks.
Hugs,
Re

Dear Remus
I recently found what I think might be your handkerchief in my bookbag. I have absolutley no idea how it could have gotten there. Meet me in London next week so I can give it back to you.
Got a crush on you, Sarah

Dear Mr. Pettigrew, It is my pained duty to inform you that you haven't returned "A History of Magic " by Bagshott, Bathilda, to the Hogwarts Library. In fact, the book is now over six months overdue, and your fines (for this, and the replacement for the book returned oozing green slime) have reached a total of twenty five galleons. sincerly, Madman Pince

Dear Pads,
Do you know anyone named Sarah? I have just recieved an owl from her, and quite frankly know no one by that name. She is being rather overly familiar.
Please respond as soon as possible.
Nervously, Moony

20 August Lestrange Manor Bath Narcissa, In all of the letters you've sent this summer all I've heard about is Lucius. I hoped one of them would bring news of an engagement, but alas! none did. Imagine my shock after reading in this morning's Prophet a lengthy engagement announcement concerning you and Mr. Malfoy. I do hope that you have a good excuse for not informing your own sister that the engagement was final before you announced it to all of wizarding Britain? Oh, Rodolphus sends his best, as if it's worth anything. Reply soon.

Darling Bella,
Please don't be angry. I'm sorry I didn't tell you personally. I was sure that Mother or Father would have mentioned it. To be honest, I know that you've been very busy with The Cause and your frequent absences from family dinners have taken away our little visits. No matter. Your work is important and I applaud you for your efforts. I heard a rumor that you're Mrs. Right Hand. Good for you, Bella Darling. I've always admired your willingness to stand up for what's right. Of course you know that my role in the good fight will be of one in the wings, cheering on the heros and helping my future husband politically. I know it's not as important as what you do, but it suits me, and what best serves Lucius will ultimately best serve the Dark Lord.
Anyway, yes. It's official - Father and Lucius concluded their negotiations last weekend and I do expect to see you at the engagement party. Please say you'll have time to come. All the right people will be there, of course. I'll be sending out invitations soon. We haven't set a date for the wedding yet, but you'll stand with me, surely? We'll discuss it later.
Again, my apologies. Talk to you soon.
Love,

23 August Lestrange Manor Bath Narcissa, Yes, I've been very busy working for the Cause, but that does not excuse your forgetfulness. Father and Mother tell me? Please, they need remembralls to recall the day of the week. No matter. I know that this is what you wanted, and hope that I can attend your engagement party. As soon as I take care of a certain matter of business it may be possible for me to pop over for the night - you did come to mine, after all. And not to worry, I won't hex Lucius as long as he doesn't hex me. He should remember where that'll get him. Congratulations, Narcissa. PS Is there a date for this engagement party?

To Ms. Evans (Location Service Requested)
From Master Snape, Hastings
Dearest Lilly
You asked me, upon seeing me briefly in Diagon Alley, how my summer had been. As you know, before I had a chance to answer you, I was hexed from behind by a certain young scion of the Black family.
To make a long story short, my summer has been horrid. Your kind condern has been noted and is much appreciated.
My father has left, and I am alone with my mother at this point. Politics, as you have probably read in the Prophet, are not going particularly well for either party at the moment. In fact, I rather think the Pure Blood Elite will triumph through audacity, were it not for the sheer strength in numbers of the other side.
I am, however, a pragmatist. Choosing between safety in numbers and safety in power, I shall choose the power, however much I may occasoinally assist the numbers. I do hope you understand what I am trying to tell you. I simply cannot afford to state things more clearly.
All my love,
Severus Snape.

Madam Longbottom Lancashire
Madam After I created that potion for your pet Gerbil, you promissed me a favor. I am in need of it now: Would you lend me that Vulture topped hat of yours? Certain nincompoops have ordered me to appear in costume at a Summer Masquerade Ball and it will be just perfect for my idea. I am going as a Potions Master with a Vulture Hat on his Head. Reguards, S. Snape.

To Master Snape Hastings
Dear Severus, I believe I understand what you were trying to say, I don't quite agree with it, but I cannot change your mind no matter how much I wish to. you were always somewhat kind to me and I appreciate that. Just remember that no matter how much power you are able to achieve through these schemes of yours and your "friends," you will always be you, nothing will ever change who you are inside, and the fact that though you are intellectually involved in the process, your heart is elsewhere, with the righteous, and those fighting to keep some good in this miserable world.
All my best, Lily

To Remus From Grandpa
Heya, Remus!
How's school goin' for ya? Thanks for the tooth flossin' stringmints! Granny complains that I really haven't any teeth to be flossing, but that's all nonsence, as you very well know.
Yer filly is gettin right big, and bold, and brazen. She had the audacity to knock down the corral wall the other day. I think she takes after Grandma.
Aunt Minny says hi- saw her the other day. I told her you had epilepsy. Hope you don't mind.
How's school now that's it's started again? Do try and keep those raspcallion friends of yours on the straight and narrow- you don't need to be guilty by assisiation, you've enough trouble as it is.
Stay healthy, stay sane, and try to become happier than you have been. All my love, Your Grandpa
