This is the place to post all questions, comments, insults, flames, love confession, and desperate pleas for attention, as long as they refer to the letter game, of course wink.gif

How long is this supposed to last? How many letters do we write?

It goes as long as there is interest. We can write as many or as few as the character wishes. [Though it may get tricky for James, Peter, and Sirius to write after Halloween of '91....]

So go for it!

Haha and I said I was going to bed! This time for real smile.gif

There's not really a schedule for this thing. It should just last as long as it takes, I suppose. ??? No idea really. It depends on a lot of things, including the other people playing (example: people could post responses to letters quickly or slowly, which would affect the time scheme)

However, if you sign up for a character and it ends up taking too long, but the "story" of it's not done yet, I see no problem with finding someone to pass the reigns onto. We're all pretty reliable people on this site, and I'm sure there will be someone to take over in the event that a character doesn't pan out.

OK, for real this time... bed.... smile.gif

How much of it has to be entirely cannon? Can we make things up? What if we choose a character that Rowling hasn't given much detail on?

Oh and also - is there a way to organize the forum so that TLG and alternate persp. are separated? It gets a little confusing with it mixed up, and if players are going to be adding their own threads, it'll be more confusing still.

Try to keep the things JKR has stated true, but if you have someone not as well defined, please use your imagination and have fun!

In plotting this out with Mooney I told her that I think Peter was an equal to the other three until Voldy got hold of him. That each Marauder has their strengths and weaknesses, but since he was sorted into Gryffindor he had to be brave and clever at some point. I really think we will discover that something traumatic "broke" him, maybe even some moral bind where he willingly traded himself for the good of another.. and now we all think of him as weak and dispicable... but, he had to start out Gryffindor-ish or he couldn't have been sorted as such. Anyhow, that's what I would do with him if I was writing for him...

So anything that hasn't been proclaimed by JKR is yours to play with!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes, there will be a separate forum to put the teachers and Dumbledore, etc. into
QUOTE
3. If you pick a Marauder or someone who writes only to a Marauder, then please post your letters in the Marauder’s forum.
4. If you pick a character who does not write to the Marauders, then make sure you’ve got someone to write to and start up a new forum (I.e. a Dumbledore-Snape forum, etc.). This will help keep down rampant chaos.
How much humor am I alloud? For instance, if I do Voldy, may I refer to my Death Eaters as "Death Munchies," and send them memos, not to mention junk mail to the rest of the population? May I write my aged aunt bertha telling her not to send me plaid pjs? Or must I merely stick with being a cold blooded psycho? Not to be annoying and all, but I've always seen our favorite baddy as someone with a really twisted sence of humor.
Ah, come on Zym... How do you really feel about Voldy?
Does this mean you have no PC sympathy for his wretched childhood?
LOL!
Sure, I love the poor thing... not HIS fault he runs around killing people. He is a victim, really. The victim of the Muggle Childcare system, and the fact that he couldn't afford anger management classes. Not to mention the fact that his horrid Aunt Bertha kept sending him plaid pjs, but pointedly refused to take him in.
Okay - we know so little about Peter, so I've taken some liberties. I've placed him in London, on Grantbridge (too lazy to make up a street or neighbourhood). I'm thinking his home is something like Grimmauld Place - in the middle of somewhere in Muggle London but hidden. I've also got him living with just his mother. I'm sure he could have a father, but I'm going with this.
