For future reference (pun intended)... Anytime something makes you crazy like this, try Google-ing it. www.Google.com

Obtest is a fun one, because it seems there is a band of that name, so the first gazillion (that's a technical term) references are for the band. Eventually you will get to the dictionaries though.

QUOTE
Obtest = beseech; invoke; adjure.
To beseech earnestly, to implore or beg.

QUOTE
Anchoretic
An`cho`ret´ic
a. 1. Pertaining to an anchoret or hermit; after the manner of an anchoret.
An´cho`ret
n. 1. One who renounces the world and secludes himself, usually for religious reasons; a hermit; a recluse.

I don't know why I have had such a dictionary problem. The search settings on my computor won't allow me to go to many places. Its a mess and it is driving me nuts. I am bound and determinend to fix the problem I just haven't been able to figure it all out yet.

Thanks you guys for the help with the words smile.gif

[off topic] For the fun of it Google your name or someone you know (not like Dan Radcliffe, an actual person you know). I did it on mine and found out there's a lady in a Cleveland suburb who has my same name!
(I suppose that would have more impact if everyone knew that I have a VERY odd name... have NEVER met anyone with the same one - or found many who pronounced it right on the first try)...

This is a tough little story. I am so glad there is not a word or character limit. I don't think I will be able to shorten this piece very much. I hope everyone will be ready to read when the scenes start popping up.

There's a lady who writes photography and finding yourself books. There's also some other people with my name, but I choose not to recognize them, because they've made bad career choices.

I'll be ready to read, I was born ready.

I'm having a hard time writing this one! ARGH! I keep thinking about what Sirius would do instead of Harry wink.gif

Side note: I've got a Harlequin Romance Writer with my name. I've got a few of her books. She's quite trashy.

EDIT: Question: should we include the bit where McGonagall warns Harry, or is that assumed?

It's assumed. Where exactly you begin is up to you. It could be midnight before Leap Day, or as he wakes up, or it could be once they leave the common room. Whatever.

Is it ok to have the part about McGonagall's warning? I've included it in my entry and used that as a location to put more info in, but I can take it out if it is too superfluous.

If any of the newer members wish to see a very good example of a spot-on submission for this, read Moonbeam's!

This is wonderful, Moony!
