Shameless self-promotion: My Rant Site

It's separate from my Livejournal. I decided to keep my LJ (The Turtle's Den) all about what's going on in my life. So basically, The Turtle's Den is boring stuff. My new blog at freewebs is called The Turtle's Other Den (I know, so imaginative), which is the 'rant site', where basically I just complain about things that either bug me or that I want to spoof. So that's a pretty boring place too. But if you're interested in hearing about what a spoiled, middle-class, white female private college student has to complain about, please, do visit the site!

PS: I use foul language. So if I had to give the site a rating, I suppose it would be somewhere between PG-13 and R, I guess? Maybe that's too harsh, but I'm just warning all those who for some reason really are going to take me up on my self-promotion! :flower:

I've been published! Awhile back I interviewed Willie Horton (retired baseball player) and wrote a piece for a website. That should be up in a week or so. I'll post the url when it does in case anyone is interested in reading.

Because I had so much information, I contacted my local newspaper and asked if they would be interested in purchasing an article. They said yes and it was printed in the sports section of yesterday's newspaper!

Another exciting thing also happened this week. I applied for a freelance position with Bow Wow Pets, a pet care co. They are starting a website and looking for articles. There were 400 applicants and they picked me along with three other people. I'm so surprised, but I'm also really excited. I get to supply them with quite a few articles and they're actually going to pay me! Wow! woot.gif

Found an awesome new website (well new to me)- www.associatedcontent.com

They have loads of topics that are interesting to read and you can submit your own work. They pay between $5 and $100 per piece. (via PayPal) You can submit your articles as exclusive or non-exclusive.

I submitted two so far that were non-exclusive and two that were exclusive. Two have been published and two are still pending. One is a Harry Potter piece that I wrote last year. And since this is shameless self promotion, I'll put the links in. wink.gif
