Hi, fellow ferrets.
While browsing the forums over at The Sugar Quill I came across a topic in The Pensieve for asking if an idea is supported by canon. I really like the idea and thought we should have a topic here for that sort of thing.

Ferrets may post their questions in this topic and anyone with an answer or opinion may respond.

For example (borrowed from FernWithy @ SQ):

Question
I was going to have Snape tap dance at the staff talent show. I don't think there's anything in canon that says Snape can't dance, but he also definitely doesn't do so at the Yule Ball. Would there be a canon problem?

Possible Answers
1) Well, it's a little weird, but there's nothing that says he can't tap dance, and the existence of a staff talent show could be something they just have with one another, I guess. Nothing exactly contradicts it.

2) It could be done, but you should probably explain why an annual event hasn't been shown, and how Snape came across a Muggle dance style like tap.

3) Actually, it says in OotP, chapter 9 and three quarters, that Snape doesn't dance at the Yule Ball because he makes Tonx look graceful.
