"Nah, we don't bother with ickle firsties," said George, grinning.

"Are you sure?" asked Fred.

"For a very good reason," said George.

"Which is?" asked Fred.

"That you could very well get caught," said a cold voice behind them.

Wincing, the two turned to face the speaker. "Professor?"

Lee Jordan's quirky laugh rang out.

"How'd you DO that?" demanded Fred.

Jordan grinned, "Got this from Zonko's!" He handed over a strange little circle that appeared to be made of maroon felt.

George grabbed it and suddenly said, "Ewww. It's all spit on!"

"Well, yeah. You put it into your mouth and envision the person you want to imitate and their voice comes out of your mouth. Brilliant, eh?" Jordan said, his excitement contageous.

"Ooooh! I see possibilities. Such posibilities!" Fred added a hint of glee in his voice.

"You know, Lee, this could be the start of something big," George said throwing an arm across the shoulders of their dorm-mate.

Lee looked slyly at the two redheads. "So, where have you been all afternoon? I've been looking for you every place I could think of."

"Around"

"Not in the Library, on the grounds, the Quidditch Pitch..." Lee replied with a raised eyebrow.

"It's a big castle!" George replied. "We must have passed eachother without realizing it."

(warning, I was too lazy to ensure that I'm in the right time period, so if I make any major mistakes pm me)

Lee shrugged, but the twins could tell that he didn't really believe their excuse. Suspicion glimmered in his eyes, but they were too new of acquaintances for accusations to start flying. Lee put his hands in his pockets and pulled out two more of the voice changing aparatuses, offering one to each of the twins. They accepted them readily and were just about to try them out when a realization suddenly dawned on George. He reached out to stop his brother from testing his gift and stared straight into Lee Jordan's eyes.

"You said these were Zonko's products?" He queried.

"Yes," Lee said with a mischeivous grin.

"But only third years and higher are allowed to go on Hogsmeade trips," George pointed out to Lee, whose grin was growing ever wider.

"Hey," said Fred, finally catching on. "He's got a point, how'd you get these. You're not allowed in Hogsmeade!"

"What are you going to do report me?" Lee said, still grinning.

"No," replied George, "we shall, however, use you as a test subject in all of our future experiments if you don't show us how you snuck into Hogsmeade without anyone alse seeing you."

Lee looked around nervously. “Meet me by the statue of the one-eyed witch tomorrow morning, eight o’ clock sharp. Don’t be late,” he said.

“The one-eyed witch? Isn’t that one of-OW!” Fred began. A sharp elbow in the ribs by George stopped him.

“Are you okay? I’m goin’ to bed. ‘Night. Ashubadachamde,” said Lee.
"Bless you," George said.

"Ashubadachamde is the password," Lee replied laughing. Then he climbed through the protriat hole.

“What was that for?” Fred asked rubbing his ribs.

“You almost told him about the you-know-what!” George exclaimed, taking his turn to go through the hole in the wall. Fred followed him shaking his head. They ascended up the stairs to the boys’ dormitories and climbed into bed.

“Hey Fred, reckon we should skip potions or just history, so they won’t notice we’re gone?”

“Just history. I want to see Snape’s bright and shining face-I mean hair.” Fred replied with a yawn.

The next morning was quite slow. After a not-so-filling breakfast of oatmeal and bacon the twins headed off to double potions with the Ravenclaws. Luckily Snape was less sneering than usual having finally succeeded to turn his hair into a deep purple.

“You will be making the Forgetfulness potion again today. Your last attempts were inadequate, to say the least. This time your grades will be final. No exceptions!” Snape ordered making sure to look at Fred and George.

They continued to work in silence, for the most part anyways. Adding the ingredients in precise order and amount.

Afterwards they headed towards the statue of the one-eyed witch on the other side of the castle. They had to be careful to watch out for Percy on his way to Divination. Even though he wasn’t a prefect he would enforce the rules without a question.

When they finally got there Lee was already walking around it nervously. The statue was hideous. It was about the size of a large dog. It was slumped over with a huge hump on it’s back. It’s face looked rather like Mad-eye Moody’s, all broken and chipped. It only had one huge distorted eye.

“It looks like that gnome Ron named Sherman. Ugly thing.” George announced. In fact the statue did look quite a bit like Ron’s gnome.

“I dunno. Maybe they’re related?” Fred laughed.

“Ok, if you are through talking about the genetics of gnomes and people I’ll show you what you came here for,” Lee said rather snappishly. Fred and George nodded and grinned.

Lee stepped up to the witch’s hump and when he had made sure no one was coming, he tapped it saying, “I hope this works. Dissendium.” The witch’s hump creaked open to reveal a hole large enough for a small person.

“Well, here we go,” Fred and George said together and they climbed in.

I named the gnome just for you Rons!

Somebody cast Lumos, and after a bit of fumbling all wands were lit. The twins bit back a gasp of dismay. The tunnel was filthy - full of cobwebs and dirt, and about an inch of dust in which Lee's footprints could clearly be seen, one set going out, and one returning.

"How did you find this place?" asked Fred.

"Easy," replied George, "he just followed the dust bunnies."

"It is filthy," said Lee with a sigh, "but I just found it last week. I was just ... er... that is I was ... nevermind. I was following somebody and she - "

"SHE!" hollowed Fred, "She WHO!"

"She who isn't going to be named," finished Lee primly. "I was following her - but then Filch came and caught her and sent her back to ... that is... sent her to her Head of House. And then, believe it or not, he shook his fist at the witch and said that he wished the Magic Words worked for him too."

"Yeah?" prompted Fred eagerly, as they crept down the stars - not so eagerly. "What happened next?"

"Well, Filch left to wherever Filch goes after hours," said Lee, "and I guessed there had to be some sort of rad thing the Witch did when you said a password. And since Filch knew what it was, it can't have been so secret - so I tried all the standard ones. Sesame, mehir ... until I found the right one, and am I ever glad I took the trouble! RIGHT to Honeydukes, this goes."

"It's not used at any rate," said George. "But if you managed to find it, anybody could. We have to cover our tracks, just to be safe."

Fred nodded. "It'll take a hundred scrubbing spells, but we'll get it to rights and then we can use it all the time."

"Just a minute," said Lee a bit nervously, as they stumbled over something they couldn't see for the dust. "We can't use it often - people will notice."

"You'd be suprized at what people miss if they aren't actually looking for something," said Fred. "Honestly, if we clean it up, there'll be no dust and grime on our clothes or shoes to make people wonder what's up. And if we keep our purchases quiet, or manage to pretend their a gift from a third year..."

George's face split into a huge grin. "Percy is going to be SO jealous."

"Shh," warned Lee, "we're almost right under the shop now."
