Project Ferret is at it again with an exciting new collaborative writing challenge, running from Febraury 28 to March 19!

SUBMISSION TIME HAS BEEN EXTENDED!
SUBMISSIONS ACCEPTED UNTIL MARCH 24TH!
POLLING THROUGH MARCH 26TH!

February 29th is a special day in the Muggle world. Things normally out of bounds are acceptable (it is Sadie Hawkins Day afterall!). Similar things are afoot at Hogwarts! On Magical Leap Year, any doorway or small passageway in Hogwarts could become a portal to another place for a brief period. One could find oneself a room or even a town away from where one wants to be. Going through the door to the Transfiguration classroom could land you in the middle of Professor Snape's private store room. Walk into Zonko's Joke Shop and you could suddenly find yourself at Madam Malkin's in Diagon Alley.

The Leapin' Leprechauns Fan Fiction Challenge is a 3 week long, 3 round collaborative story about what happens when 6th year Harry and friends encounter Magical Leap Year at Hogwarts.

Writers have 5 days each week to write, edit (you may use a beta reader) and submit a piece, following missions (with special requirements and fun things like the required use of certain words, spells and objects) outlined at the beginning of each round. The winning submission for round 1 (as voted by other Project Ferret members) becomes the first chapter of the story, and the round 2 mission will pick up where round 1 left off, and so on. There will be prizes awarded to each weekly winning writer and a Grand Prize will go to the overall favorite submission from all 3 rounds.

~~~ THE PRIZE LIST ~~~
Sponsored by The Department for Regulation & Control of Magical Creatures
The submission receiving the most votes in each round wins:
Any round where at least "9 - 3/4" submissions are posted:
March 18th & 19th members vote for their
overall favorite submission FROM ALL ROUNDS!
The overall favorite wins their choice of
Grand Prize Choice #1 : Lend a touch of myth and magic to your Muggle surroundings with your very own snowy owl, just like some you might find at Eeylops Owl Emporium! Handpainted resin casting. 4-1/2" high x 7" wide. Easily attaches to computer monitors, window or door frames, almost anywhere (with self-adhering tape that's included).
Grand Prize Choice #2 : A "must have" for the well-appointed wizard or witch, for perambulating Professors, strolling students, ambling authors, and other wayside wanderers. The sepentine dragon on the head is cast in antiqued, pewter-finished resin. The shaft is black lacquered hardwood terminating in a rubber-tipped ferrule. 40" long.
Grand Prize Choice #3: You won't be able to spend this in Diagon Alley unless you get it exchanged at Gringotts first. This muggle money is One Crown legal tender issued by the Isle of Man to Honor Harry Potter, and is sealed inside the official Harry Potter packaging you see above. This particular coin is called "Harry and Ron return to the burrow" and is one in the series by Pobjoy Mint, Ltd.
The writer of the overall favorite Wizarding Wheezes Submission (parody) will win something special from the Department Of Mysteries.
