*Penelope's parents aren't Dark Side supporters. They're more like scientists, creating and discovering different potions from all over the world. The MLES would be suspicious of the family because they don't see any potions having moral value; the Woodwards see it more from a scientific point of view. They'd feel that the Ministry and its laws are meddlers, hindering the advancement of potions technology. Penelope's parents wouldn't be too fond of aurors digging into their professional work, so Penelope's feelings about them are that aurors are scary and bad because they search your home or shop for no good reason and pull you out of bed in the middle of the night to interrogate you about local magical criminal behaviour.
