QUOTE (chad13 @ Oct 30 2005, 03:42 PM) Homework ... yeah right, with an HP script up for grabs! Forget homework for a few weeks (that's what I'm doing, hahaha) this here is a once in a life time opportunity! Grrrr something tells me Voldy is at it again! :darkmark: In just 2 days I have been given a total of 4 essays!! Fellow ferrets you must pull me back to the real world!! I want to write my mission. *sniffle* Maybe Victor will come and take me off on his broom. QUOTE Is anyone else absolutely in love with their mission? Hehe yes I dare say I am. Ottery, maybe Voldy has tweaked with your stuff too. But hey, guess he didn't go too far. A Weasley is always a Weasley. (I was wondering how come you hadn't used your usual font. )

Ottery I don't know if there is a time limit but I'd guess you'd have to be done with your first round sub before nov 8th since it says nov 8 and 9 are just voting days for the first round. As for the history of pf it's kind of a long story but an explanation on the ferrets can be found on the facts page here at http://www.projectferret.org/splash/faq.htmhope that helps

QUOTE (OtterySt.Catchpole @ Nov 1 2005, 09:37 PM) cherabela, my usual font? this evil thing has four fonts, and I'm too dumb I'm sure to figure out how they work anyways...honestly.
I meant your usual font on SS. Haha we're crazy all right.

I wonder how it is you could all read regular type to see your missions, but miss the boldfaced big red type telling you when you had to be done. Then again, I'm the one who does things like trip over a sopha, walk into shut glass doors, and generally not see things I ought to. Like that deadline! *runs for cover to finish story*

I had to settle on reading GOF ... again. lol. But now that I am home my fingers have been busy at the keyboard and I should be finished by tomorrow1 yay!

QUOTE (Lissydove @ Nov 3 2005, 09:33 AM) Ummmm... there are three submissions... Did you miss the one with the long winded title? I hate making up titles... <_< I know how you feel Lissy. Agree on it completely. Sadly I haven't even started working on my mission. Somebody kill school for me please? This is the first time I'm getting to come on a computer all day. Good thing it's the weekend now. Must finish English essay, check. Forget all about Maltese essay, check. Do PF mission triple check with numerous sticky notes. QUOTE Cherabela. I'm just gonna call you Cher. I love Cher. OMG! This is PF not SS so I had to get new robes. *Ottery twirls in his new font then promptly slams into a wall but gracefully (that's where all those old musicals I watch on TCM come in!) recovers* Did someone catch the name of that hippogriff? Cher is just fine. It is my name after all. Apparently someone has taken a liking to smilies.

So, funny coincidence. I haven't had to write a paper since I got to England, and now that this contest is on, I have two huge papers due in the next couple weeks. They're going to take a ginormous amount of time, as I have never written a true English paper before, and have to triple check everything to make sure it conforms to British standards, because I've been informed that my American Rubbish is not wanted here. Aaaaaargh!!! I guess I'll just have to prioritize. Or maybe I can procrastinate. Meh, they both start with P and are therefore the same thing. Tri-Ferret Tournament here I come!!!

LOL! you know what I've alawys wondered? Why we Americans have the steering wheel on the left side and why other places have theirs on the right side... I'm stuck... I banged by head against the wall but no more ideas are coming to me... plus I also have school. Why can't I freeze time and finish my mission?

QUOTE LOL! you know what I've alawys wondered? Why we Americans have the steering wheel on the left side and why other places have theirs on the right side... Because Jousting wasn't common in America. The point of driving on the Brit side of the road (hence steering wheel placement) has to do with approaching the "enemy" with the pole in most people's dominant hand (where there is more control and strength). *wanders off thinking about other trivia that hardly anyone ever wonders about* like:Dueling is also why men's and women's shirts button from different sides. The logic was that "he" could unbutton his coat with the left hand while reaching for his sword/pistol with the right, while "she" wouldn't be dueling so would use the other hand to undo the coat/shirt. I'm a veritable font of useless info

I have finally started working on my submission although I'm like 1/3 through. I hope to finish it by tomorrow. Besides juggling with two essays. The number of essays alone has toppled up to 5. Bah!! Cat it's actually really cool you know all that dueling stuff!! I've got a lot of useless stuff floating around my head (mostly abotu movies and rubbish, haha) and it's always difficult to find a time where it can be used. But that stuff about the buttons and the steering wheel are actually really interesting!!

Aaaaand I'm done!! I had a painstaking job of reducing it to the supposed amount seeing how my original came up to 3600 words. I had to cut most of Ludo's lines out. I hope you enjoy it enough to compensate for the time you'll spend reading it. And now back to finishing my essays and reading all your loverly entries.

I've just spent an hour and a half reading and rating all of the entires. They were all so good!!! Great job everyone. It's definitely going to be a close contest, and more than one of us deserve to win. But alas, there can only be one tri-ferret champion. :/ Well done once again!

Wow. I had to stop voting for a minute so I could post and say what a great job everyone has done. It's been really fun reading eveything. I loved that everyone had a different mission too. Individual ideas really shined. And I am SO glad that we have to vote and not pick our favorite- It would be much too hard to decide if we did. Are you sure PF doesn't have twelve signed movie scripts laying around somewhere?? I can't wait for round two and three... While we are waiting...I have a special request for Evlpez (Our new duel made me think of last year's duel.) Last year you wrote the most enjoyable bit of fan fiction I have ever read. I printed a copy of the story because it was so funny and I liked it so much. I no longer have it, but I'm wondering if anyone else still does. It was called Harry Potter Blows His Nose and it was written from the perspective of Draco Malfoy. So... I was wondering if you could post it here so we can relive the fond memory or maybe pm it to me so I can read it again and print it off and NOT lose it this time.

YAY TimeTurner! They are all wonderful stories!!! QUOTE While we are waiting...I have a special request for Evlpez (Our new duel made me think of last year's duel.) I no longer have it, but I'm wondering if anyone else still does. It was called Harry Potter Blows His Nose and it was written from the perspective of Draco Malfoy. First, here's a link just scroll down to it! Second, All of the Ferrety goodness from past events can be found in the Ferret Files. Third, there is a delightful tool up at the top of the page called "Search". You'll find it under the big graphic for the current Duel (or Draco-Ferret on a normal day). Just click it and it will lead you through what to do. It's fairly easy to use, too! Hope that helps. :flower:

Except that the Search function has been disabled for the duration of the Tri-Ferret Tournament! *pokes Cat* Search will be turned back on after the contest is over. Glad Cat thought of the Ferret Files. I was about to go searching my documents to see if I still had that thing. LOL!

I'm leaving for London in an hour and I was hoping that the results of the first task would be posted before I left so that I wouldn't have to stew about it until Saturday, but I guess I'm meant to be disappointed and left wondering. Oh well, I will just comfort myself by going to Leicester Square and taking an extreme amount of photos of all the Harry Potter posters.

I've been looking around the board for ages. Now either I'm blind or Mugglecast is sucking at my brain. They are like the First Task icons no? Because I found one but it said I had already got a mission so I assume it was a First Task icon. Edit: I just found it, so yeah....I must be tired. *snores*

I'm really bad when it comes to riddles. Would it be worth it to take hints until it solves itself? Or am I just up a creek with out a paddle? (and the creeks name rhymes with hit) HaHa timeturner!!!!

Newbie here! I've solve 3 of my riddles and now get to choose which task I want, right? Do I need to let The Powers That Be know which task I have chosen?
*slinks off embarrassed by dumb question*

NUNDU M.O.M. Classification XXXXX This east African beast is arguably the most dangerous in the world. A gigantic leopard that moves silently despite its size and whose breath causes disease virulent enough to eliminate entire villages, it has never yet been subdued by fewer than a hundred skilled wizards working together.

Oh, is she the Powers That Be this evening? I've been messaging her with all sorts of crazy questions all night and thought I'd give her a rest by asking on the forum! Nutty Newbie Nundu (ah, alliteration!)

Just a note of caution to all ferrets... once people start posting their submissions in the Second Task topic, you could be naughty and steal a mission for which you haven't solved the riddle. This would be very naughty indeed. And, in fact, we have a complete record of which ferrets answered which riddles and how many hints they got, and we will be double-checking the entries. Now, we don't usually condone the use of the Unforgivable Curses, but desparate times...

QUOTE Ron trying to balance a quill on the tip of his nose...yeah...toooooooooooooooo cute. *tackle glomps Ron* Cuteness. Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee QUOTE *Teddy smacks Ottery* Ouch. Yeah, I guess I forgot the squid playing with the ink was pretty cute too. Awww....thanks for the comments. Does that mean I'm cute? I can start working on my mission now. I hope to have it finished by Wednesday. I've been a good ferret and done most of my essays this weekend so I can dedicate the next 3 days to HP writing. Because of course, writing on Friday is a no no.

QUOTE (Amaranth @ Nov 13 2005, 04:47 PM) can I just confirm that it will look similar to the icons for the previous task I.e. in a red box, inside someone's post? Ah. No. The riddle-giver is much larger. Very large, in fact.
