Way Down in the Basement
to the tune of on top of spaghetti
Way down in the basement,
Where the house elves work,
To find a portrait,
The trio did lurk.
To tickle a pear,
They needed to do,
It squirmed and giggled,
And then let them through.
And then in the kitchen,
Where feasts can be made,
There was a fireplace,
Where Winkey was laid.
The house elves seemed happy,
But she could not see,
Hermione had to start,
Her house elf freeing spree.
To start S-P-E-W,
She said she would do,
Ron and Harry got jobs,
But members were few.
So eat in the great hall,
But please understand,
That down in the basement,
Is a working band.
