Welcome to the Dueling Arena!

Here is where members may challenge one another to write competitively.

1. Any Ferret may issue a challenge. Challenge Creators are responsible for outlining the requirements of their contests, including plot, chapter missions (If multiple rounds), chapter length and time limits. Other fun requirements like the use of certain words or unusual characters should be in there too. (For example: This scene must also make use of the following list of words and include a talking fuschia squid and a jinxed teapot) All new topics in the Ferret Duel are now Moderated. This means they don't just show up when you post them, they must be approved by a moderator first. We're just starting to use this process, and at present we don't know how long it will take for new topics to show up.

2. Challenge Creators are responsible for starting topics in which their fellow ferrets submit their entries (Mods will 'pin' them for you if necessary). The Challenge Creator should also start a discussion topic in the same forum.

3. Challenge Creators are responsible for creating the polls that determine the winner(s) of their contests. (If you are unsure, the Mod Squad will help you set up your poll, but is not responsible otherwise.).

4. Stoats may vote in polls and post in discussion topics if they wish to comment on a challenge, but they are not allowed to post fiction. Only full-fledged Ferrets can do that.

5. Challenge Creators may choose to award prizes to their contest winners, but it's not necessary. If a Challenge Creators wants to award prizes, it is their sole responsibility. The Project Ferret Administration is in no way responsible for distributing prizes for any contest other than Official Project Ferret Challenges.

6. If The Project Ferret Administration issues a big Challenge, advance notice will be given to the membership so that other contests have time to conclude. This will hopefully prevent contests being overshadowed by "The Big Game".

7. It is not the goal of Project Ferret for this site to create too competetive of an atmosphere. Our goal is to have a fun friendly community that is here to share, help one another and exercise our writing. If the Administration feels that the Collaborative and Nurturing Atmosphere that Project Ferret strives for is compromised by increasing competetiveness in this forum, the Ferret Duel Forum may be discontinued.

--When posting a new topic in fiction areas, please use the quill picture as the topic icon for fiction threads. It is specially coded to send topics using it to the Current Stories list. Please use the arrow pic as the topic icon for discussion topics. It is coded so that Stoats may reply to topics using it. Thanks!

Any questions about the Ferret Duel and how it works can be posted in the Questions about PF topic located in "About Project Ferret"..

Remember, all the basic board guidelines apply in this forum!
